“IN THE FUTURE I SEE OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GREENERY BECOMING EVEN MORE IMPORTANT AND INTIMATE”

Last month I was interviewed by Green Connector. I was asked, among others, what the role of “green” will be in the future, and what trends can be expected in this area. If you look back, you can see that the consumer has quickly picked up the green connection, led by the young millennials. This became more apparent in the retail and hospitality industry.

Fortunately we are increasingly aware of the positive effect that greenery has on us.

It has been proven for retail that if you add plants to your store or concept, people feel more comfortable and therefore get into the buying mode faster.

Need for Green

The need for greenery continued to increase, certainly under the influence of the lockdowns. The positive feeling that it gives to grow, care for and cherish plants will ensure that we maintain a strong connection with the greenery around us.

In the Design Language we see this reflected in leaves, colorful patterns and special colors.

But I see an even more important trend for the future. We will immerse ourselves in the knowledge of ancient peoples, of “indigenous people”. The science of plants is being expanded and rediscovered. The focus will be on edible nature, the medicinal effect of greenery and all the additional benefits that plants have on our ‘wellbeing’.
